Your role as a Trainee – Information security coordinator

You will join the Information and security protection teamat Ringhals, where we work to strengthen resilience, protect critical information and support one of Sweden's most important energy facilities. The team supports the organization in information security, personnel security and regulatory compliance, helping ensure that information, systems and processes remain secure and reliable.

As a trainee, you will support and coordinate information security activities across the organization. You will work closely with experienced specialists, the Business Information Security Officer and stakeholders from different parts of the business. Together, you will contribute to areas such as risk management, incident follow-up, governance and compliance. This is an excellent opportunity to build expertise in information security while helping drive initiatives that support the safe and reliable operation of critical infrastructure.

Your responsibilities

  • Support information security activities, including risk assessments, information classification and security-related follow-up.
  • Contribute to incident handling, reporting and continuous improvement of information security processes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to promote awareness and compliance with information security requirements.
  • Assist in interpreting and following up on information security regulations, requirements and governance activities.

Kvalifikationer

Your qualifications as a Trainee – Information security

We believe you have

  • A university degree, or expected graduation before March 2027, in Information Security, Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Systems, IT, Digital Security or a related field.
  • A strong interest in information security, governance, risk management and regulatory compliance.
  • Fluency in both Swedish and English, spoken and written.
  • Experience from studies, thesis work, internships, student projects or extracurricular activities related to information security, risk management or security protection is considered a merit.

  • You have an analytical mindset and enjoy understanding complex challenges from different perspectives.
  • You are collaborative and enjoy working with others to achieve shared goals.
  • You are structured and organized, with the ability to plan and follow through on long-term activities.

To be considered for our traineeship, you should:   

  • Have completed, or expect to complete, an academic degree before the programme starts in March 2027
  • Have no more than one year of relevant work experience after graduation, excluding internships and working-student roles
  • Be fluent in English
  • Be available for the full-time programme from its start date
  • Have the right to work in the country where the position is based, or meet the stated work-permit requirements
  • Be open to mobility opportunities and collaborating across different locations.

Selection will start after the application period with online tests, followed by interviews between the end of October to end November. The final recruitment process will be completed by December, with a pre-employment screening. The Vattenfall International Trainee Programme starts on March 1st, 2027.
