Network Engineer

Vattenfall IT is the internal IT provider for the entire Vattenfall Group. It is an international shared service center, providing efficient and reliable IT services and 1.300 IT Engineers located in different European countries provide daily support to the Vattenfall Group. The Network Department is an international Team which is responsible for design, delivery and maintenance of Network Services across all countries. They are hundreds of locations connected together which require stable, efficient and secure network.

We are looking for talented individuals who have background in Network who like traveling and in addition to their passion for their own role, want to contribute in supporting a meaningful corporate mission. We look for open minded person who thinks out of the box, has fun in digging into new technologies, and is eager to learn, ask questions and help others. Some experience in troubleshooting Network related problems, and fun in writing the documentation (handbooks, Wiki articles and presentations etc) will be very welcome.

Main Responsibilities

You, as an Network Engineer will be part of Operational team who does focus on daily maintenance of LAN, WLAN and WAN services on both Hardware and Service layer. You will deal with incidents and daily operations, you will join projects as well. Most of your daily work will be done remotely (either from the main office or Home), but also visiting remote sites will be part of your duty. You will take care about Network equipment in Nordic (SE, DK, FI) locations, show up there periodically and in case of an serious incident. This will also require communication with non-English speaking end-users. On-call, work in over hours and traveling are part of the job. Depending on your interest, we will help you to develop yourself in specific areas of Network, like e.g. Software Defined Network, WLAN or Network Security

Your profile

We believe that you have:

• Knowledge about physical Network infrastructure components
• Knowledge about LAN, WLAN and WAN services
• Basic experience in automating your daily work (scripting, Ansible playbooks or similar)
• Fluently speaking in both Swedish and English
• Driving license
• Bachelor or University degree
   

Beneficial requirements: 

• Network related education, trainings, certificates (e.g CCNA)
• Experience in Wireless LAN setup and troubleshooting
• Experience in working with Network devices, physical mounting them and configuring
• Experience in working with German speaking non-IT customers
