Working Student – Energy  battery systems (bess)

at our Berlin or Hamburg location.

At Vattenfall, we are accelerating the integration of battery energy storage systems (BESS) into renewable energy projects, supporting our goal of enabling fossil-free living within one generation. To ensure a high-quality knowledge base and strong project execution, our Battery Integration Team is looking for a motivated Working Student who will take on a key supporting role in shaping and maintaining our internal knowledge tools — especially the Battery Integration Book — while contributing to hands-on project work.

Your Role

  • Take on the role of Battery Integration Information Coordinator, responsible for collecting, organizing, and maintaining information in the Battery Integration Book — our internal knowledge platform for battery-integrated projects.
  • Create and revise technical drawings and plans using AutoCAD (2D), integrate available public data
  • Support engineers and project managers in the design and planning of technical systems or infrastructure
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to gather relevant data, project learnings, and documentation.
  • Support the facilitation of a regular content update cycle and help ensure information is accurate and accessible.
  • Assist in various battery integration projects, contributing to research, documentation, and coordination tasks.
  • Help prepare presentations, reports, and internal communications.

Qualifications

Your Profile

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program, ideally in Engineering, Energy Systems, Renewable Energy, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Structured and detail-oriented, with a good sense for organizing technical and project information.
  • Curious and proactive, able to work independently and take initiative when needed.
  • A good communicator in English (C1) and German (C1) - comfortable working in an international, cross-functional environment.
  • Interested in energy storage, battery systems, and renewable energy.
