Are you ready to help shape the future of renewable energy and take meaningful steps towards fossil freedom? At Vattenfall, we are looking for a Wind Turbine Technical Expert (Vestas V164/V236) - Offshore Wind who wants to use their engineering expertise to accelerate the transition away from fossil fuels. In this role, you will be part of an international team that values collaboration, strategic thinking and innovation. If you are driven by solving complex technical challenges and want your work to have real impact on society’s energy landscape, we would like to hear from you. Join us at BA Wind and bring your skills to a place where ambition meets purpose.

In this role, you will be at the heart of our mission to deliver reliable, safe and efficient offshore wind operations. You will act as a Subject Matter Expert for offshore wind turbines, offering your expertise to solve technical challenges and support continuous improvement. By providing remote technical advice, you help resolve issues quickly and optimise processes that keep our turbines performing at their best. Working together with internal teams and external partners, you ensure knowledge is shared openly so we can drive progress as one team.

Your daily work includes:

  • Leading troubleshooting projects and standardising solutions for recurring technical issues
  • Collaborating closely with engineers across disciplines to develop practical improvements for turbine performance
  • Coaching second-line engineers by sharing insights and inspiring them to achieve excellent results
  • Documenting solutions clearly so that everyone in the team benefits from proven practices
  • Engaging with external partners when specialist input is needed or when coordinating joint initiatives

You will have a direct impact on operational excellence by making sure our teams are supported with the right knowledge at the right time. Success in this position means fewer downtime incidents, faster problem-solving and more robust processes—results achieved through teamwork, open communication and your drive to find better ways forward.

Location
Amsterdam, Kolding, Hamburg or London.

Qualifications

Ideally, you have previous experience in the offshore wind sector, and a solid foundation backed by over ten years of experience in technical operations. Your expertise allows you to act as a trusted advisor when it comes to offshore wind turbines, bringing practical knowledge and sound judgement to complex technical challenges. You are comfortable working in English every day, using your communication skills to build understanding across cultures and teams.

We are looking for someone who enjoys collaborating with others to create better solutions. You combine strong problem-solving abilities with a supportive approach, always keen to help colleagues grow while sharing what you know. Your familiarity with SAP and electrical systems enables you to contribute effectively from day one.

To thrive in this role, you bring:

  • Deep hands-on experience in technical operations within the energy industry
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical systems and SAP: So you can quickly assess issues and drive improvements
  • Strong communication skills across diverse teams: To ensure everyone stays informed and aligned
  • An enthusiastic attitude towards mentoring others: Because we believe learning together accelerates progress
  • A collaborative mindset that values partnership—with both internal colleagues and external partners

You get inspired by tackling challenging problems, finding new ways forward, and making an impact through teamwork. If you enjoy being at the centre of technical innovation and supporting those around you, this could be your next step.
