As a Business Development Manager within BA Markets, you will join the Strategy & Business Development team, playing a key role in shaping our future and driving Vattenfall’s ambition to enable a fossil-free life within one generation.

You will work closely with senior stakeholders, contribute to strategic decision-making, and lead initiatives that drive growth, efficiency, and innovation across BA Markets.

Your role

In this position, you will take on a broad and impactful scope of responsibilities:

  • Drive and support the BA Markets strategy process, including preparation of quarterly business reviews and key presentations to senior management and the Board
  • Provide market and competitor analyses, identifying trends, opportunities, and new business models in the evolving energy landscape
  • Lead and contribute to strategic and cross-functional projects, including collaborations with other business areas such as BA Wind and BA Customers & Solutions
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, particularly in areas such as decarbonization, flexibility, and renewable energy solutions
  • Contribute to large-scale transformation initiatives, promoting digitalization, AI, and new ways of working
  • Analyse emerging topics such as hydrogen and biogas, translating market developments into strategic implications for BA Markets
  • Act as a strong partner to the BA Markets Management Team, working closely with the Head of BA Markets and senior stakeholders

Qualifications

Your profile

We are looking for a motivated and curious professional who enjoys working in a dynamic and collaborative environment:

  • 2–5 years of experience in the energy sector or a related field
  • Experience in strategy, business development, or project work (e.g. consulting or in-house roles) is a strong advantage
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex topics into clear insights
  • A structured and proactive working style with the ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence in working with senior stakeholders
  • Interest in energy transition topics such as decarbonization, renewables, and new energy solutions
  • A team player with a positive mindset and ambition to grow and develop

We employ around 500 professionals who are active across Europe with offices in Sweden, Germany, The Netherlands, and the United Kingdom to drive the energy transition together. Our role in Vattenfall is to maximize the value of the overall portfolio by optimizing and dispatching, hedging, and sourcing for Vattenfall's sales and generation volumes. We serve as Vattenfall’s single access to energy commodity markets and trade electricity, emissions, fuels, freight, and renewable certificates.
