Are you ready to shape the future of offshore wind operations and become Vattenfall’s leading expert on jack-up vessels and heavy-lift campaigns? There is a way. Join us as a Senior Marine Specialist (Jack-Up) and play a key role in ensuring safe, efficient and innovative offshore operations across our Generation portfolio.

We produce electricity through hydropower, nuclear energy and other large-scale energy sources, always with a strong focus on safety and reliability. Our teams ensure our operations remain stable, efficient and future-ready. By doing so, we provide a strong foundation for a sustainable energy market.

As part of our Offshore Logistics team, you will work across Northern Europe, supporting critical offshore campaigns, major component exchanges and future heavy-lift solutions. This is a unique opportunity to influence vessel strategy, innovation and operational excellence across a broad portfolio of offshore assets.

As Senior Marine Specialist, you are the technical authority and subject matter expert for jack-up vessels, heavy-lift logistics and offshore installation campaigns. You will support strategic decision-making while ensuring safe, effective and high-quality marine operations across Vattenfall's offshore activities.

You will collaborate with colleagues across Engineering, Procurement, Operations, Asset Management, HSE and Product Development while also engaging with vessel owners, OEMs and key industry organisations.

Your responsibilities

  • Act as Technical Authority for jack-up vessel requirements and marine operations.
  • Provide technical guidance for major component exchanges (MCEs), offshore installation campaigns and heavy-lift projects.
  • Support vessel strategy development and future heavy-lift concepts.
  • Maintain and continuously improve employer requirements, vessel vetting processes and performance standards.
  • Participate in tender evaluations and procurement activities related to jack-up vessels and heavy-lift campaigns.
  • Conduct technical assessments, operational readiness reviews and risk evaluations.
  • Support port studies, infrastructure assessments and asset interface reviews.
  • Review vessel performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Guide inspection teams on vessel audits, surveys and assessment methodologies.
  • Investigate incidents, capture lessons learned and support implementation of improvements.
  • Monitor market developments and provide input on commercial assumptions and vessel availability.
  • Contribute to innovation projects and assess emerging offshore technologies.
  • Represent Vattenfall in external industry forums such as G+ and IMCA.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, vessel owners, suppliers and offshore partners.

Your profile

You bring deep marine operations experience together with a strong understanding of offshore logistics and jack-up vessel performance. You enjoy working across disciplines, sharing expertise and supporting complex projects from concept through execution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Maritime Studies or a comparable discipline.
  • Experience within Marine & Offshore Logistics.
  • Experience planning and executing jack-up operations, preferably within offshore wind.
  • Strong knowledge of vessel design, performance and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with maritime certification, surveys and audit activities.
  • Knowledge of chartering practices, maritime law and marine administration.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships across international teams.
  • Experience supporting risk assessments and offshore operational reviews.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and preferably SAP.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to obtain or hold GWO mandatory offshore safety certification.
