Do you want to shape the commercial performance of one of Europe's largest offshore wind portfolios?

At Vattenfall, there is a way.

We are accelerating the transition towards a future powered by renewable energy. Within Business Area Wind, we develop, build and operate wind farms onshore and offshore across Europe. With more than 24 GW of offshore wind projects in development and a growing operational portfolio, this is your opportunity to influence the future of sustainable energy at scale.

We are looking for a Senior Commercial & Contract Manager Offshore Wind to join our Commercial Operations team.

In this position, you will play a leading role in protecting and creating value across Vattenfall's offshore wind assets. Acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, you will drive strategic commercial initiatives, lead high-impact negotiations and contribute to the development of commercial excellence across Offshore Wind Operations.

You will operate at the intersection of Operations, Asset Management, Procurement, Legal, Finance and Engineering, helping to solve complex commercial challenges while strengthening the commercial maturity of the organisation.

Qualifications

What will you do?
As Senior Commercial & Contract Manager, you will provide commercial leadership across a portfolio of operational offshore wind assets and support the continuous development of commercial governance and best practices throughout Offshore Wind Operations.

You will combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution, ensuring that major supplier relationships, contractual frameworks and commercial decisions contribute to safe, reliable and cost-efficient operations.

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Act as the senior commercial and contractual partner for assigned offshore wind assets, supporting critical operational and strategic business decisions.
  • Lead the commercial management of a portfolio of high-value operational contracts, ensuring performance, contractual compliance, risk mitigation, and value delivery throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Lead complex commercial negotiations, major contract amendments, claims, disputes, and other high-impact contractual matters with strategic suppliers and contractors.
  • Drive commercial performance by identifying opportunities to improve contract outcomes, reduce lifecycle costs, manage risk, and strengthen supplier collaboration across the portfolio.
  • Provide clear commercial, contractual, and financial recommendations that support robust decision-making and long-term asset value creation.
  • Shape and continuously improve commercial governance, contract management standards, reporting, and best practices across Offshore Wind Operations.
  • Coach and support commercial colleagues while acting as a subject matter expert for complex commercial and contractual issues across the business.

Who are you?
You are an experienced commercial professional who combines strong commercial judgement with the ability to influence complex business decisions.

You are comfortable navigating ambiguity, balancing stakeholder interests and managing high-impact contractual matters in a large-scale operational environment. You enjoy working across functions and are recognised for your ability to build trust, challenge constructively and create sustainable business value.

Next to this you bring:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Economics, Law, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in contract management, commercial management, procurement, supplier management, or a comparable commercial discipline.
  • Proven success leading complex commercial negotiations and managing high-value supplier and service agreements within asset-intensive industries.
  • Strong expertise in contract strategy, contract changes, claims management, dispute resolution, and commercial risk management.
  • Experience within offshore wind, renewable energy, utilities, maritime, infrastructure, oil & gas, or other complex operational environments.
  • The ability to influence senior stakeholders, build trusted relationships across functions, and translate complex commercial matters into practical business decisions.
  • Native-level German and fluent English language skills, with the ability to lead negotiations, manage contractual discussions, and to operate effectively in an international environment.

Location
Hamburg, Berlin, Amsterdam or Kolding.
