The job

As a Software Engineer in the Flex Pricing team you will join a collaborative Scrum team of Analysts who develop valuation models for batteries and other type of energy assets with flex value. In a strong mathematical team you take technical ownership but also need to develop an understanding the maths behind the models and be curious about their commercial impact.

We offer an exciting and challenging job where you work close to the business as well as with state-of-the-art modelling infrastructure. The position offers a mix of IT and analytical tasks and close cooperation with the front office, which provides a solid commercial understanding and context to our operating markets.

What You Will Do

  • Data & Infrastructure: As a tech lead you should rase coding standards of the team, shaping the architecture of the models, design and maintain reliable data pipelines and support team members to improve software quality and maintainability.
  • Models: Maintain and improve our forward curve models and valuation models for e.g. battery storage systems and gas storages and swing options by translating mathematical models into production-quality code.
  • Pricing: Provide valuation / pricing output for battery storages, gas storages and swing options and support our stakeholders’ understanding what drives the value
  • Collaboration: Work closely with team members, other tech leads, and stakeholders to align technical solutions with user needs and business goals.

Qualifications

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven experience in Python development, with a solid understanding of software engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, Docker containers, orchestration (Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or similar).
  • Ability to understand mathematical concepts and implement them in code.
  • Strong communication skills and the willingness to interact with colleagues, stakeholders and other data-driven departments
  • An academic degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Maths, Physics, Engineering or a related field.
  • Fluency in English
