The Business Area Wind is responsible for Vattenfall’s Onshore and Offshore Wind, as well as other non-hydro renewable activities such as solar and batteries. Our offshore business is amongst the top three players globally and a key contributor to Vattenfall’s business success. As Project Manager and part of our project teams, you will closely collaborate with our internal sponsors to find solutions to our most complex challenges. Our business, as well as the industry, is changing rapidly. To be successful, you need to leverage your strategic and commercial thinking and apply your problem-solving skills. You will report to the Head of Strategic Projects, a strategically oriented function in the Business Unit Offshore. 

We work in an international setting and with direct exposure to senior management. For your work, you will be supported by a diverse group of peers, who have a background from management consulting companies or have previously worked in strategy functions.  

Responsibilities and qualifications 

Your tasks and responsibilities 

• Learn about the challenges our business is facing and work closely with your colleagues in Strategic Projects and beyond to identify improvement opportunities for our Business Unit. 

• Contribute to setting the overall strategic direction of BU Offshore. 

• Scope, align, and lead strategic initiatives and improvement projects in line with our strategy and operating model. Ensure success through convincing storytelling, innovative concepts, effective presentations and analysis reports for our project sponsors & management team. 

• Actively collaborate with project sponsors, the BU Offshore line organisation and other stakeholders, building your reputation as a trusted advisor. 

Who are you?  

Your background 

• An advanced university degree, or equivalent qualification, in business, economics, engineering or a related field, together with at least four years of relevant professional experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, or transformation. 

• Relevant experience in the energy or utility sector, with a good understanding of how complex organisations make decisions and collaborate across functions. Experience in offshore wind development, operations or strategy is a strong advantage. 

• A strong track record of structuring complex and ambiguous business problems, conducting robust analysis and translating insights into clear, actionable recommendations. 

• Experience in independently scoping and leading cross-functional strategy, transformation or organisational improvement projects, from initial problem definition through to implementation. 

• Confidence in engaging senior stakeholders, facilitating alignment and communicating complex topics through concise presentations and compelling strategic narratives. 

• The ability to take ownership, work independently and consistently turn direction into tangible results.

• Passionate about creating a sustainable energy landscape. 

• Structured, pro-active, motivated and comfortable with ambiguity. 

• Working with an end-to-end mindset; able to see the big picture, while understanding the right amount of details to include to deliver success. 

• Strong stakeholder management skills, a cooperative team player, and an excellent communicator in an international environment. 

• Committed to deadlines and eager to take ownership. 

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands - Hamburg or Berlin, Germany.
