At Vattenfall, we actively support the energy transition by connecting industrial customers with fossil-free energy solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for translating strategic marketing priorities and customer journey concepts into impactful campaigns, compelling content, digital activities, and lead generation initiatives. Working closely with Origination and Sales, you will drive the operational execution of marketing activities that support commercial growth and strengthen customer engagement.

Our Business Area (BA) Markets in Hamburg is looking for a Digital Marketing Manager who will play a key role in strengthening customer relationships, increasing market visibility, and supporting the development of long-term strategic partnerships.

Your key responsibilities

Market-Driven Content & Positioning

  • Create high-quality content such as whitepapers, case studies, LinkedIn articles, presentations, and other marketing materials that translate complex energy topics into clear customer value propositions.
  • Develop thought leadership narratives around renewable energy solutions, Corporate Power Purchase Agreements (cPPAs), and industrial decarbonization.
  • Define and refine key messaging frameworks based on customer insights, market developments, and buying behavior.

Campaign Management & Lead Generation

  • Plan, execute, and optimize integrated B2B marketing campaigns with clear funnel logic and measurable business impact.
  • Drive lead generation initiatives aligned with strategic Origination priorities and commercial objectives.
  • Monitor, analyze, and continuously improve campaign performance through KPI tracking and data-driven optimization.

Customer Journey & Pipeline Contribution

  • Support the execution of lead generation, lead nurturing, and customer engagement activities across the marketing funnel.
  • Manage and maintain marketing activities within Microsoft Dynamics Marketing.
  • Ensure seamless lead flow integration while supporting campaign tracking, reporting, and performance analysis.
  • Create and maintain forms, landing pages, and audience segmentations to support campaign execution.
  • Identify opportunities to improve campaign effectiveness and customer engagement through ongoing analysis.

Digital Channels & Marketing Execution

  • Manage website content, SEO/SEA initiatives, and digital marketing channels in collaboration with external agencies.
  • Execute email marketing campaigns, newsletters, LinkedIn activities, and event-related marketing efforts.
  • Ensure consistent brand positioning and messaging across all customer touchpoints.

Stakeholder & Interface Management

  • Work closely with Origination, Sales, Product teams, and Management to align marketing activities with business priorities.
  • Support the team and management with operational and coordination-related activities.
  • Translate commercial priorities and strategic objectives into impactful marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborate effectively with external agencies, content partners, and other marketing stakeholders.

Qualifications

Your profile

  • Excellent German language skills, both written and spoken (mandatory).
  • University degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in B2B marketing, digital marketing, or a comparable role.
  • Strong content creation, storytelling, and copywriting skills in both German and English.
  • Proven experience in campaign management, marketing execution, and performance tracking.
  • Solid understanding of energy markets, renewable energy solutions, sustainability, or related topics.
  • Ability to translate complex commercial and technical subject matter into compelling and customer-focused messaging.
  • Experience working in B2B, industrial, energy-related, or similarly complex business environments.

We employ around 500 professionals who are active across Europe with offices in Sweden, Germany, The Netherlands, and the United Kingdom to drive the energy transition together. Our role in Vattenfall is to maximize the value of the overall portfolio by optimizing and dispatching, hedging, and sourcing for Vattenfall's sales and generation volumes. We serve as Vattenfall’s single access to energy commodity markets and trade electricity, emissions, fuels, freight, and renewable certificates.  

Within Markets BU Customers is offering power purchase agreements to operators of wind or solar parks. We provide market access services to large customers and (regional) energy suppliers and connect demand-side flexibility of industry to stabilize the electricity grid. We furthermore source electricity for Vattenfall’s consumer- and business customers with a strong focus to increase renewable sources of electricity.
