Do you have strong technical expertise in wind turbines and a passion for improving reliability, performance, and safety? At Vattenfall, we are looking for a Lead Technical Specialist Windturbines to support our operational wind farms across the region.

In this role, you will act as a key technical specialist, supporting sites with complex issues related to Wind Turbine Generators (WTG), Balance of Plant (BoP), SCADA, and electrical systems. You will work closely with Operations, Engineering, Technical Support, and other technical experts to reduce production losses, improve asset performance, and drive continuous improvement across our wind portfolio.

Your responsibilities

As an Lead Technical Specialist Windturbines, you will:

  • Provide regional technical expertise in Wind Turbines, SCADA, electrical systems, and Balance of Plant infrastructure.
  • Support operational sites in troubleshooting, fault analysis, and technical problem solving.
  • Investigate technical non-conformities and identify preventive measures to improve asset reliability.
  • Drive and manage improvement initiatives aimed at reducing production losses and enhancing performance.
  • Analyse operational and maintenance data to identify trends and opportunities for optimisation.
  • Support planned and unplanned maintenance activities across Wind Turbine Generators, foundations, structures, and associated equipment.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Technical Support teams to resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Contribute to retrofit projects, testing programmes, and new technology implementation.
  • Take an active role in the development and improvement of service and troubleshooting documentation.
  • Support commissioning activities for new wind farm sites when required.
  • Share lessons learned and best practices across wind farms and projects to drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical input to Planning & Optimisation, Asset Management, and Project teams.
  • Contribute to operational readiness activities and support sites transitioning out of warranty.

Depending on qualifications and regional requirements, you may also hold specific authorisations under Vattenfall's operational safety frameworks.

Qualifications

Your profile

We are looking for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with a structured and collaborative way of working.

You bring:

  • Proven technical experience within the Wind industry, preferably working with Wind Turbine Generators and related systems.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in Engineering combined with relevant technical experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive and structured approach to identifying and resolving technical issues.
  • The ability to build effective relationships across operational and technical teams.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office applications and SAP, or the ability to quickly learn new digital tools.
  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • A commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Knowledge of local regulations and the local language may be required depending on the location.
