What could your future look like?

Here you’ll have the freedom to grow, shape your career and learn from people with different perspectives and experiences. We believe diverse teams find better solutions. That's why we create an environment where people feel safe to experiment, innovate and speak up.

Pär wants to contribute to society’s energy supply

At Vattenfall’s laboratory in Älvkarleby, Pär Nilsen gets the opportunity to work both hands-on and digitally – with everything from large-scale physical models of hydropower plants to digital twins of facilities. He often compares it to being on the TV show MythBusters.

“We test lots of different things. If something doesn’t work, we make adjustments and try again,” says Pär.

Sonsoles is developing solutions for a world that does not exist yet

For Sonsoles Jimenez collaboration is essential when projects encounter difficulties. According to her, solving an unexpected problem together often creates stronger teams than a project in which everything proceeds exactly as planned.

“You become close to your colleagues when you go through a stressful situation together and manage to fix it. Problem-solving as a team is a great feeling and often good for innovation as well.”

Tony finds solutions by looking at problems from different perspectives

A master’s thesis on cable testing brought engineer Tony Sibo to Vattenfall’s R&D department, where he has continued to explore how cables perform under different types of stress. Some of his most valuable insights come from collaborating with colleagues across different parts of the organisation.

“It’s easy to approach a question from your own perspective. When you discuss it with others, things often come up that you wouldn’t have thought of yourself,” says Tony.
