Do you thrive in roles where strategic thinking meets hands‑on execution?

Vattenfall is now seeking a Business Developer to join the Consumer Sales Nordic organization in Finland. If you enjoy diving into new topics, solving complex problems, and turning ideas into practical initiatives, this is your opportunity!

As a Business Developer, you will work with an end‑to‑end mindset, bringing clarity to complex topics and ensuring that development work remains both customer‑centric and commercially sound. You will work across a mix of exploratory and well‑defined topics and contribute to both strategic decisions and everyday improvements. You’ll shape concepts, processes, and initiatives by gathering information, engaging the right people, and forming a clear, holistic view of what matters.

In this role, customer experience is an important lens. You will help us understand how initiatives affect the full customer journey and ensure that development work creates value for both customers and the business. When relevant, you may also contribute to strengthening CX practices in Finland.

Key responsibilties

  • Analyze new concepts, regulatory developments, and market opportunities and translate them into actionable insights that support business decisions while always keeping an end‑to‑end view.
  • Drive business development initiatives from scoping to recommendation and implementation, ensuring alignment across relevant teams and a clear understanding of impacts on the full customer and operational journey
  • Support ongoing commercial and operational development, including refining processes, ways of working, and business planning.
  • Prepare clear proposals, analyses, and decision materials for leadership and business teams.
  • Contribute to structured development work, such as building and evaluating business cases and assessing feasibility.
  • Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to understand needs, identify pain points, and propose well‑grounded improvements that consider customer experience and business impact.
  • Coordinate and follow up on initiatives to ensure progress, transparency, and successful implementation.

Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of the electricity market, energy concepts, or related commercial environments.
  • Proven experience in business development, strategy, consulting, business transformation, or similar fields.
  • Ability to quickly interpret market and business information and structure complex or unclear topics into actionable insights.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual capabilities with a pragmatic, solution‑oriented approach.
  • Experience in defining the scope of initiatives, planning work, and driving progress.
  • Ability to work with an end‑to‑end perspective.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong command of both Finnish and English.
  • A collaborative mindset and working style, enabling strong relationships and cooperation across the organization.
  • Relevant degree within business, economics, or another suitable field.

As a person you are naturally proactive, comfortable with both clear and evolving contexts, and able to switch between strategic thinking and hands‑on execution. You stay steady and focused even when situations shift quickly, and you handle changing conditions with a calm, solution‑oriented approach that keeps work progressing.
