There’s never been a more exciting time to work in energy, with huge changes driven by the energy transition and advances in technology. As a Project Manager with

Vattenfall you’ll be in charge of some of the most challenging and demanding work in the sector and using the latest techniques to bring the very best out of your team.

What do we do within this expertise?

Large-scale projects

Making it happen

As a Project Manager overseeing one of our larger investments you’ll be leading a close-knit team working together with external consultants on multi-million euro investments.

Leveraging the team

Being responsible for a project such as a new district heating network will provide the opportunity to be involved in an investment which will have significant positive impacts on people, communities and the environment for many years ahead.

It isn’t just your technical engineering and management skills which will be tested, but also the ability to communicate effectively with different stakeholders at every stage of a project. Delivering projects within often densely-populated areas for example means managing relationships with the local community will be crucial to successful delivery.

Internal Projects

Enabling delivery

Effective project management is vital to drive the change and different ways of working we need to achieve our mission of a fossil-free future.

Skills matched with needs

Although your skills in listening to customers and self-managing will be important as a Project Manager, it is the ability to make things happen which is your key superpower!

You’ll have significant opportunity to develop your career in Project Management, whether it’s as a Business Project Manager, Asset-based Project Manager or Senior Project Manager, and your unique skillsets and aptitude for different challenges will be matched with the needs of the business. With your skills and experience you could also coach colleagues in Agile techniques to get the best out of their abilities.

Agile

Working Agile

Although conventional methods of project management continue to have an important role to play in our business, project teams are increasingly using Agile ways of working to deliver the pace of change needed in many areas.

New approaches

In fast moving markets such as e-mobility, Agile ways of working are helping us respond to market developments and develop products and services much more quickly.

Agile is also playing a key role as we look at accelerating digitalisation across our business. Your IT superpowers could see you working as a Scrum master in the Digital Accelerator within our Heat business, facilitating a multi-disciplinary team looking at quickly developing innovations such as apps to help maintenance staff plan their work better.
