About Jorissa Neutelings
After running her own digital strategy business, Jorissa Neutelings joined Vattenfall as Director of Digital Development in 2016. Her role has since been broadened to become Director of Digital Innovation, Information Security and Business IT. She has a Master of Arts (MA) from the University of Utrecht and has also taken part in the INSEAD Leadership Programme.
“My passion is to help organisations on their journey in the digital world and to enhance the experience of customers and employees. I love the mix of creative and business skills needed – at university I specialised in both financial management and 20th century art so I have always had those two sides to my personality!
Finding innovative ways to engage with customers
I chose to work for Vattenfall as I was excited by the opportunity to make a real impact in a new role as Director of Digital Development.
My job is to help the business develop innovative ways to listen, understand and engage with customers so their personal digital journey to fossil-free is as simple and enjoyable as possible. I’ve so far worked on exciting projects including as the implementation of chatbot technology and the launch of a new mobile app.
An entrepreneurial environment
Although Vattenfall is a big company you can also be an entrepreneur within it. If you take the initiative and are able to bring people on board with your ideas, the support is there to be able to progress them quickly.
It’s also a very diverse workforce here. Throughout my career I have been involved in initiatives to improve diversity, including establishing an online business magazine aimed at helping women fulfil their potential at work. At Vattenfall, it really doesn’t matter who you are or where you are from, it is all about what you bring to your team and the business.
Outside of work you’ll often find me both on land and on the water as I’m a fanatical field hockey player and stand-up paddleboarder. I’m also really interested in learning more about how the human brain works which helps me better understand consumer behaviour.”
