A real challenge, not a classroom exercise
HackoWatt isn’t about theoretical tasks or predefined solutions. Participants will work on a real-world scenario inspired by modern households using renewable energy sources like photovoltaics.
With access to datasets such as weather forecasts, energy consumption and grid load, teams will design their own solutions - apps, tools or concepts - that help:
- optimize energy usage,
- reduce costs and CO₂ emissions,
- support grid stability,
- and promote more conscious energy habits.
There’s no single correct answer. What matters is creativity, logic and the ability to turn an idea into a meaningful solution.
Learn, build, collaborate
This initiative is created in close partnership with the University of Silesia, bringing together academic knowledge and industry expertise.
For us, it’s more than a one-time event - it’s a way to connect with the next generation of IT and data talent, and to support the development of skills that truly matter in today’s energy transition.
HackoWatt is designed for students who want to go beyond theory and gain hands-on experience. By joining, participants will:
- work in teams under time pressure - just like in real IT projects,
- develop skills in AI, data analysis and problem solving,
- collaborate with peers from different universities and countries,
- connect with industry and academic experts,
- and build a project they can proudly add to their portfolio.
And yes - there are also prizes waiting for the best teams.

The hackathon will take place at the end of September and will be available both:
- on-site in Katowice (Poland), and
- online, so participants can join from anywhere.
