Our vision is to enable electrification to support a fossil free living by operating and developing sustainable networks. To meet future challenge we need diverse competences.

By enabling more small-scale renewable generation to connect to the grid or ensuring the power is always on for customers, you’ll be a valuable part of the bigger picture.

Which expertises are working with disitribution?

Engineering & Science

Smarter grids

Our networks are constantly adapting to the rapid development in technology. You’ll be using your engineering superpowers and the latest technologies to accommodate more weather-dependent renewable generation and increase flexibility on the system.

Making it work

We’re investing heavily to improve our electricity networks to deliver best quality of supply for our customers . We are harnessing big data and analytics to help increase flexibility.

Smart grids will enable better customer control of energy and with your electrical engineering experience you could be a Project Manager overseeing a major meter exchange programme to install the latest technology across hundreds of thousands of homes.

Quality of supply is the highest priority in our company. We continuously conduct projects to improve our grid and provide better quality of supply.

Operation & Maintenance

Round the clock

With greater electrification comes more vulnerability from loss of supply. As part of the Operations & Maintenance team you’ll be playing a vital role in keeping the network running safely, 24/7 365 days of the year.

Always learning

Although our Distribution infrastructure is built on long-established technology, the shift to smarter grids means you’ll have opportunities to be involved in the latest developments.

As an engineer you’ll relish the challenge of working in a system-based approach across both traditional equipment and new technology.

With a varied workload across planning, monitoring and operational services, as an Operations Engineer you’ll be part of a close-knit Network Operations team keeping the power flowing whatever the challenges.

Microgrids on an island in the Stockholm archipelago increase accessibility in the electricity grid

In a pilot project on the island of Arholma in the Stockholm Archipelago, Vattenfall Eldistribution is testing a microgrid that can supply the island with locally produced renewable electricity. The microgrid is connected to battery storage for storing energy until it is to be used, and solar cells to test the control of power production from solar panels.

You will be helping enable electrification to support a fossil free living.
